More efficiency in projects thanks to cloud transformation
ARCHIPEL Generalplanung AG is an independent company with three locations in Switzerland. The company manages and coordinates architects, technical planners and specialists, thus enabling its clients to achieve a stable construction process for their building projects.
ARCHIPEL has previously relied on a hybrid solution of on-prem and cloud. This hybrid solution no longer reflects the company‘s expectations and is no longer up to date. For more flexibility in collaborating with external people, the company wanted to move to a cloud-only approach from now on. In addition, there was a growing need for a modern way of collaboration to work easily and agilely on complex as well as multi-disciplinary projects.
To make collaboration even more efficient, the company‘s BIM applications were also to be mapped in the cloud. Furthermore, ARCHIPEL still operates a traditional telephone system in the basement, which leads to high maintenance costs.
To support ARCHIPEL’s desire for a cloud-only approach, the company has opted for the Workplace as a Service of isolutions. Even if ARCHIPEL continues to work with its existing devices, isolutions relieves them of license management and the processing of ticket requests or updates. At the same time, Exchange Online was implemented with complete integration of Microsoft Office 365 range. To improve collaboration even more, Microsoft Teams with SharePoint integration was also introduced. For ARCHIPEL, BIM applications are extremely important, especially in day-to-day business. In order to take a cloud-only approach here as well, ARCHIPEL is currently evaluating a CAD solution from desktop.studio, which is operated in Microsoft Azure.
With these tools in hand, internal and external employees can access the applications from anywhere without having to be in ARCHIPEL’s infrastructure. Thanks to the migration into cloud, the company can now respond more efficiently and quickly to the onboarding of external employees, which greatly simplifies the entire process.
To promote collaboration and communication within the company, ARCHIPEL has also opted for the modern intranet solution from ahead.
