Microsoft invited over 1'200 customers and partners to Ignite in Zurich - a total sell-out! Catrin Hinkel, CEO of Microsoft Switzerland, opened Ignite in a fitting manner. Afterwards, keynote speaker Andy Elder, CVP Microsoft Solutions, took to the stage and humorously drew our attention to the risks of cybersecurity and Microsoft's efforts to combat them.

Microsoft Ignite is one of the most important events for technology leaders and customers. The core of the day's program is divided into five parallel tracks:

Transform Copilot Development with Microsoft Copilot Studio

isolutions was also there as a sponsor! And not only with a booth, but with a session on «Transform Copilot Development with Microsoft Copilot Studio». Our specialists David Schneider, CTO at isolutions, and Markus Tobler, Development Principal Consultant at isolutions, together with Adriano Perolini, Senior Cloud Solution Architect for Business Applications at Microsoft, provided information on the use cases that are already possible today with Microsoft Copilot. Three specific practical examples were discussed:

An HR Copilot that answers questions about the employee handbook, checks the current vacation status or where vacation requests can be submitted directly.
A customer service Copilot, where customers of a kitchen appliance manufacturer can receive assistance or make an appointment with a service technician.
A public transport timetable Copilot that searches for suitable train connections.

Keynotes, Sessions and Networking

In addition to exciting keynotes and informative sessions, Microsoft Ignite offered space for networking. After many exciting discussions with customers, it can be summarized that all companies are now thinking about generative artificial intelligence (AI) and how they can use it profitably. The level of knowledge among most of them is much higher than a few months ago and many have already been able to gain initial experience. Some of the customers and companies we met at Ignite are currently in the process of rolling out solutions such as Microsoft 365 Copilot. Interest in individual solutions with Azure OpenAI or Copilot Studio is very high and continues to grow.

The successful Microsoft Ignite 2024 in Zurich can be summarized with these three key take aways:

Many Swiss companies are using generative AI and Microsoft Copilot to increase their efficiency. The benefits of the technology are being recognized and companies are willing to invest in this innovative development. Nevertheless, we are only at the beginning here.
The potential to create innovations, develop new products and open up new business areas with generative AI is still barely being exploited.
Microsoft's partner ecosystem is very lively and dynamic. There is a lively exchange of experiences, characterized by collegiality and the common goal of acting in the interests of customers.

The day was a complete success for everyone. It clearly showed that Swiss customers are ready to revolutionize the way their employees work and interface with their customers based on the Microsoft platform.
