Agents as far as the eye can see – No future without Copilot and AI agents
The focus is increasingly shifting toward intelligent agents and copilots – digital assistants that go far beyond existing technologies. We are at a turning point that will sustainably transform not only our business processes but also our work and life models.
Intelligent agents are increasingly taking on tasks that previously required human interaction: booking travel, placing orders, comparing offers, and making decisions – autonomously, efficiently, and in the user’s best interest. What will soon be reality, for example: an agent that independently orders merchandise T-shirts, compares suppliers, and automatically selects the best option. Naturally, the preferred supplier will be the one providing the agent with the right information.
A new playing field is emerging: optimizing websites for agents. Even today, some companies block automated agents from accessing their sites – fearing fake orders or missing verification. However, this protection inevitably sparks a new discussion: how should websites be designed so they can be efficiently understood and used not only by humans but also by digital agents? Just as search engines rely on structured content, agents require a clear information architecture. The result: a completely new perspective on user experience, digital trust models, and accessibility.
Two new players are entering the copilot agent arena: the Researcher Agent, which analyzes internal documents and produces well-founded comparisons, and the Visual Creator, which generates high-quality images for marketing, product design, or communications. These developments show that the agent world is growing rapidly and continuously opening up new fields of application in business.

One particularly exciting enabler: integrating Copilot Studio agents into the Microsoft Power Platform. This allows companies to develop their own agents and seamlessly integrate them into their processes – for example, to automatically check compliance guidelines or summarize incoming emails. Automation thus becomes not only possible but also scalable, customizable, and immediately usable.
The message is clear: companies need a solid agent strategy – and they need it now. Those open to new technologies and able to integrate AI tools meaningfully into existing processes will gain efficiency, unlock innovation potential, and secure competitive advantages. Those who miss this development risk being left behind.
