Team Lead - Managed Infrastructure
Job Description
Are you a leader who wants to build and shape an Azure team?
Our philosophy is: Engineering instead of repetitive execution. Ten identical tickets should not be solved manually ten times – for us, they are a signal that we should build something that will help us in the future. Do you want to embed exactly this mindset within a team?
Then we are looking for you! Get inspired by the isolutions Experience and become part of a team that communicates openly and directly, supports and challenges one another, and is spread across Switzerland and Barcelona.
This is what you get up for in the morning:
- You lead the Managed Infrastructure team both professionally and disciplinarily and systematically develop your employees from Azure support roles toward engineering and expert-level profiles – including a clear and binding certification roadmap.
- You continue to build up the young team: recruiting, onboarding, skills development, and succession planning are in your hands.
- You are responsible for platform stability, monitoring, backup and restore, as well as patch compliance across our customers’ Azure environments.
- You act as the escalation point for major incidents at infrastructure level and ensure thorough root-cause analyses and sustainable remediation measures.
- You plan capacity, on-call coverage, and shifts across the Switzerland and Barcelona locations, while taking regulatory requirements into account – for example, customers from the financial sector whose environments may only be accessed from Switzerland.
- You establish an engineering culture within the team: recurring cases are identified as patterns and permanently eliminated through automation, Infrastructure as Code, or standard changes – and you deliberately allocate capacity for this.
- You manage collaboration with our vTeams Operations and Architecture & Automation around Landing Zones and Infrastructure as Code frameworks.
- You act as Process Owner for your team’s core processes – for example onboarding, service expansion, and transition – and are responsible for your customers’ operational documentation: up to date, traceable, and audit-ready. You delegate the operational implementation to your technical leads.
- You work closely with the Product Owner, Customer Success Management, and Service Desk to ensure that customer needs, the roadmap, and operations are aligned.
- You are responsible for budget, utilization, and costs, keep an eye on your customers’ Azure costs, and support Presales with infrastructure proposals – together with our Supplier & Contract Management team, including at the interface with Microsoft and our partners.
We would like you to:
- You have completed vocational training as an IT specialist (Informatiker/in EFZ) or an equivalent qualification; further education at HF/FH level is an advantage or already planned.
- You have at least three years of professional experience in Azure operations or engineering and have already gained one to two years of leadership experience – either professionally or disciplinarily.
- You have broad Azure expertise: subscriptions and governance, compute and storage, networking, Entra ID and RBAC, backup and disaster recovery, Azure Monitor, and Cost Management.
- You have a good understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines and are able to assess and support the technical decisions made by your team.
- You think like an engineer: you challenge manual processes, recognize patterns in recurring cases, and actively drive automation and standardization.
- You think in processes: you are familiar with ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Problem Management as well as ServiceNow, and you enjoy taking ownership of processes and their documentation – including in an audit context.
- You hold certifications such as AZ-104; AZ-305, AZ-500, or AZ-400 as well as ITIL 4 Foundation are a plus.
- You bring strong skills in building and driving change, have technical depth, and are able to delegate and empower others at the same time.
- You confidently lead an intercultural, distributed team, remain calm in crisis situations, and communicate clearly with customers and management.
- You have very good German and English skills (the team works partly in English at the Barcelona location); French is a plus.
